We are the NQ Flyfishers
We are a North Queensland based club with members in Townsville, Ingham and the Whitsundays. The club has a current membership of about 20 but our membership is growing steadily, with a great group of guys that enjoy getting out and about with mates and promoting fly fishing as a sport as well as a recreational pastime. We meet fortnightly on Thursday evenings from 715pm, Fish as a club once a month, and also enjoy monthly fly casting practice on the Saturday following our fly tying meetings. On any given weekend you will be sure to see atleast 1 or 2 of us out and about, fishing somewhere....
Visitors and new members are always welcome!!
Our next gathering is our meeting night on 26 April at the Heatley High School, when we'll meeting and discussing open water tactics, with a view to fishing around Cape Cleveland on the following weekend (being 28 / 29 April). The next tying night will be on 10 May, and we're going to tie crazy charlies and squimps. Ward will be holding the next casting session (also at the High School), focusing on accuracy, on Sunday afternoon 13 May. I'm always looking for stories and pics to keep the site moving, so if you have any pics or stories from your fishing trips send them on through. Please be mindful of pic sizes though and if you can reduce them to 1024x768 pixels that'd be fantastic, as they can be easily emailed and still edited without losing too much definition.
